We set off on an exciting trekking journey with our guests from Dubai, exploring the historic trails of Azerbaijan’s ancient and high-altitude mountain villages in the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains. Along the way, we visited villages where different languages are spoken and discovered the local traditions, lifestyles, and cuisine of various communities. Our group, made up of several families, spent the journey together like one big family, sharing wonderful moments along the way. One of the highlights for me was seeing our 13-year-old participant exploring nature alongside his family, which made this trip even more memorable.
Some journeys stay in our memories not only because of the landscapes we see, but also because of the people we travel with and the new cultures we discover along the way.
This time, we set off on a trekking adventure with our guests from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, exploring the historic trails of Azerbaijan’s ancient and high-altitude mountain villages in the heart of the Caucasus Mountains.
The villages we passed through offered our guests a wonderful opportunity to discover Azerbaijan’s rich cultural diversity. In these settlements, where different languages are spoken and various communities preserve their unique traditions, they experienced local lifestyles and customs. Meeting village residents, visiting traditional homes, and tasting local cuisine added a special touch to the journey.
Our group consisted of several families. Although they came from different families, their kindness, mutual support, and friendly spirit throughout the journey made them feel like one big family. We walked together, shared conversations, discovered new places, and completed our journey in a wonderful atmosphere.
One of the things that particularly caught my attention during this trip was having a 13-year-old participant in our group. It was especially rewarding to see this young traveller walking the mountain trails with his family, exploring nature, and enjoying every part of the journey.
Today, when children spend much of their time in front of phones and computers, I find it truly valuable to see them going into the mountains with their families, experiencing nature firsthand, and discovering new places.
I believe some of the most beautiful childhood memories are created during journeys like these. The steps taken along mountain trails, landscapes seen for the first time, encounters with local people, and adventures shared with family are memories that stay with us for years to come.
For us, too, this trip was much more than just a trekking tour. Walking the same trails with people from another country and introducing them to Azerbaijan’s nature, culture, and hospitality was a wonderful experience.
The trails of the Caucasus Mountains once again brought us together with new people. This time, we returned with not only beautiful landscapes in our memories, but also wonderful impressions and heartfelt moments.
