Azerbaijan is a country with an ancient history, rich culture, and delicious culinary traditions. This tour invites you to the heart of the Caucasus to experience a harmony of history, taste, and nature all at once.

During the journey, you will explore ancient cities, mountain villages, and historical monuments, meet the hospitality of local people, and discover the authentic flavors of the national cuisine. The route, stretching from Baku to Goygol, and from Sheki to Ismayilli, offers both a historical and culinary adventure.

One of the most unique aspects of the tour is getting acquainted with Azerbaijan’s Alban wine-making traditions. You will learn about vineyards and ancient wine production methods from the Caucasian Albania period, and explore historic wine routes near the Alban temples in the Sheki and Gakh regions. Additionally, you will visit local wineries to observe modern wine production and taste a variety of wines.

The national cuisine is an integral part of the tour. Along the way, you will get to know dishes such as piti, dolma, qutab, kebab, local cheeses, and various desserts. Each meal is served with local wine to fully enjoy the harmony of flavors and aromas.

Before joining the wine tour, it is important to familiarize yourself with all the tour details. This is especially useful for first-time participants in wine tasting and winery visits, and it helps avoid unexpected situations. Being informed in advance about the wineries to be visited, the tasting program, tour duration, transportation, and weather conditions will ensure a more comfortable and enjoyable experience throughout the tour. 

Travel Plan:

Day 1: Arrival / Baku

Welcome to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Airport pickup and hotel transfer are arranged. Guests can rest or explore the city freely.

Day 2: Baku City Tour

After breakfast, the tour of Baku's main attractions begins.

During the tour, a visit to Dagustu Park offers panoramic views of the Caspian Sea and the city. Then, explore Icherisheher – the Maiden Tower, Shirvanshahs’ Palace, caravanserais, and the ancient atmosphere of narrow streets.

At the end of the tour, visit the Heydar Aliyev Center, a masterpiece of modern architecture.

Dinner at a restaurant serving national cuisine can be arranged in the evening upon request.

Day 3: Baku / Gobustan / Agsu / Ganja

After breakfast, travel westwards. The first stop is Gobustan Rock Art and Museum, showcasing carvings and ancient monuments reflecting life from millennia ago.

Next, visit the mud volcanoes, a rare natural phenomenon in the world.

At Azgranata Winery in Agsu district, observe the production process and participate in wine tasting.

Evening arrival in Ganja and hotel check-in.

Day 4: Ganja / Goygol / Sheki

After breakfast, visit Ganja's cultural and historical sites: Nizami Ganjavi Mausoleum, Shah Abbas Mosque, and Javadkhan Mausoleum.

Then travel towards Goygol. Explore Helenendorf – a 19th-century German settlement, visit Goygol Winery and the underground wine cellar built in 1860.

Next, enjoy an excursion in Goygol National Park and admire views of Goygol and Maralgol lakes.

Evening travel to Sheki and hotel check-in.

Day 5: Sheki / Gakh / Sheki

After breakfast, tour Sheki city, including Sheki Khan Palace, Jumah Mosque and Madrasa, ancient caravanserai, local handicraft workshops, and Kish Alban temple.

Then visit Sheki Winery for lunch and wine tasting.

In the afternoon, travel to Gakh district, visiting the 5th-century basilica, historic mosques in Qum and Ili Su villages, Sumuq Qala fortress, and Saint George Georgian Church.

Day 6: Sheki / Gabala / Ismayilli

After breakfast, depart for Gabala. Visit Savalan Winery, explore the museum and production process, and enjoy a wine tasting of various types.

Then take a walk around Nohurgol and have a short break.

Continue to Ismayilli and visit a local winery.

Overnight stay at Ismayilli winery guesthouse or hotel.

Day 7: Ismayilli / Lahij / Basgal / Baku

After breakfast, visit the winery and vineyards. Then travel to Lahij village, famous for coppersmithing and handicrafts.

On the way, stop at Basgal village to learn about the silk-making tradition. Lunch is arranged in Basgal.

Return to Baku in the evening and check in at the hotel.

Day 8: Baku / Airport Transfer

After breakfast, transfer to the airport.

    • 70% refund if canceled 15 days in advance (30% retained).

    • 50% refund if canceled 7 days in advance.

    • No refund for cancellations 5 days or less before the tour.
