Experience the adventure of a lifetime with a trekking route connecting the villages of Khinalug, Griz, Laza, and Kuzun in Azerbaijan. This scenic route links the highest mountain villages of the region, giving you a close-up view of its rich cultural and historical diversity. As you cross the Greater Caucasus mountains, enjoy breathtaking landscapes of valleys, alpine lakes, and dense forests teeming with wildlife. Explore ancient caravan routes, fortresses, watchtowers, and historic ruins, and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture, cuisine, and traditions of the local communities.
At every turn of the route, new and exciting landscapes await, and as you reach the mountain villages, a sense of wonder and awe will accompany you.

After the trekking tour, you will visit the most beautiful historical sites of the country from the north to the south of the Caucasus – exploring ancient cities such as Shamakhi, Gobustan, Gabala, and Sheki. Rejuvenate your energy by relaxing in the therapeutic water and oil baths of Naftalan. After visiting Gobustan, a symbol of our historical past, you will head to the areas with the highest concentration of mud volcanoes in the world, concluding your journey starting from the ancient monuments of Baku and ending in the cool evening air of the capital.

Before joining the trekking and cultural tour, it is important to carefully review all the details of the tour. This is useful both for those going on a mountain hike and for those who want to explore historical and cultural sites, as it helps prevent unexpected situations. Knowing in advance the route's difficulty level, required equipment, distance, weather conditions, and the historical-cultural sites to be visited will help you move more comfortably and safely during both the trekking and cultural parts of the tour.

Travel Plan:

DAY 1: Airport → Baku → Hotel → City Tour

Pick-up at the airport and transfer to the hotel.

After checking in and resting at the hotel, and having lunch, we will go on a city tour of Baku’s main attractions. The tour program includes the Fire Temple, Ramana Fortress, Yanardag (Burning Mountain), and in the evening, the Martyrs' Lane.

DAY 2: Baku → Red (Candy Cane) Mountains → Mount Beshbarmag → Khinalig Village

After breakfast at the hotel, we head to Quba. Our first stop will be the Red (Candy Cane) Mountains located in the Khizi region. From there, we travel by car to Mount Beshbarmag and enjoy the stunning view of the Caspian Sea from the summit.
After descending the mountain, we continue by car to Khinalig village. Upon arrival, we will explore the historical sites of Khinalig and spend the evening in a local guesthouse.

DAY 3: Khinalig Village → Qalaykhudat Village → Qrız Village

After breakfast, we start trekking towards Qrız village.
Along the way, we stop in Qalaykhudat village for lunch and then continue towards Qrız. Passing through the Qudyalchay Canyon, we will encounter the enchanting Qur-qur waterfall.
We continue to Qrız village and get acquainted with the village’s historical sites.

DAY 4: Qrız Village → Laza Village

After breakfast, we continue trekking towards Laza village, passing the slopes and meadows of the Mixtoken mountain range.

Upon reaching Laza, we will visit the waterfalls and other attractions in the village. In the evening, we stay at comfortable guesthouses in the village.

  • Laza Village: 1700 m

DAY 5: Laza Village → Kuzun Village → Sumqayit

After breakfast, we depart from Laza towards Kuzun Village. Traveling along the banks of the Qusar River, we reach Kuzun Village.
After a short break here, we have lunch in Qusar and then head to Sumqayit city.

  • Kuzun Village: 1200 m
  • Kuzun – Sumqayit distance: 200 km
DAY 6: Sumqayit → Diri Baba Mausoleum → Basqal → Lahij → Sheki

After breakfast, we depart from the hotel towards Sheki city.

Our first stop will be the Diri Baba Mausoleum in Gobustan. Then, we continue our journey to Basqal Village in Ismayilli district. After exploring Basqal, we head to Lahij. After a short tour and lunch in Lahij, we proceed to Sheki.

On the way, we will stop at Lake Nohurgol for a break, then continue to Sheki.

  • Lahij – Sheki: 160 km
DAY 7: Kish Village – Sheki Khan Palace – Caravanserai – Naftalan

After breakfast at the hotel, we visit the Kish Temple.
After visiting the Alban temple in Kish Village, we see Sheki Khan Palace and the Caravanserai, and then head to Naftalan.
During this tour, you can relax at a 5-star hotel with Naftalan oil treatment and then explore the surroundings for sightseeing.

DAY 8: Naftalan → Gobustan → Mud Volcanoes → Baku

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Baku and make a stop at Gobustan along the way. After exploring the Gobustan mud volcanoes and rock art monuments, we return to Baku.

DAY 9: Baku Boulevard → Carpet Museum → Icherisheher → Heydar Aliyev Center

After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit modern architectural landmarks of Baku. The tour program includes the Heydar Aliyev Center, Baku Boulevard, and Carpet Museum. Additionally, we will explore the narrow streets of the historical Icherisheher and modern avenues of Baku.

In the evening, we will head to the airport.

    • If cancelled 30 days before the tour date, the amount will be fully refunded.

    • If cancelled 15 days before the tour date, 70% of the amount will be refunded (30% retained).

    • If cancelled 7 days before the tour date, 50% of the amount will be refunded.

    • No refund for cancellations made 5 days or less before the tour date.
