Khinalug Mountain, one of the highest peaks of the Caucasus Mountains, is located in the northern part of Azerbaijan, within the Quba district. This magnificent mountain, standing at an altitude of 3,713 meters, is situated south of Khinalug village and is also known as Qibla Mountain and Ketish Mountain by the local population. The mountain can be easily reached from Khinalug village. Before joining the summit tour, it is recommended to familiarize yourself with all the details of the tour. This is especially useful for those embarking on the summit journey for the first time and will help you avoid unexpected surprises. Being informed in advance about physical challenges, the length of the route, and weather conditions will ensure that you are well-prepared.

Day 1: Baku - Khinalug - Camp

We depart from Baku to Quba city (3 hours). After making our final purchases, we head towards Khinalug village (2 hours). Upon reaching Khinalug village, we continue towards the camp on foot with off-road vehicles. After a 2-hour hike, we arrive at our campsite located at an altitude of 2,600 meters. After setting up our tents, we rest. To acclimate to 3,000 meters altitude, we take a short hike. We spend the night in tents.

Day 2: Camp - Khinalug Mountain - Khinalug - Baku

Wake-up time: 04:00. After having breakfast and completing our preparations, we start our hike towards the summit of Khinalug. After an exciting hike along the steep path, we reach the summit. The ascent to the summit will take approximately 5-6 hours. After taking pictures and having a short rest, we begin our descent back to the camp. The descent will take approximately 3-4 hours. After reaching the campsite, we pack our tents and head towards Khinalug village. From Khinalug, we take our sprinter vehicle back to Baku. We arrive in Baku at around 22:00.

Necessary Equipment:

Mountain boots, waterproof warm pants (Gore-Tex), waterproof warm jacket (Gore-Tex), sleeping bag, hiking poles, cooking equipment, gas burner and cylinder, tent, headlamp, gaiters, hat, sunglasses, gloves, socks, thermal underwear, fleece jacket, sleeping mat, tent, etc.


Additional Information and Terms:
  • Registration and Permission: To participate in the tour, registration must be completed at least 30 days in advance and full payment must be made. Participants must provide a copy of their passport within this period to obtain permission from Shahdag National Park and the State Border Service.

  • Cancellation and Refund Policy:

    • Full refund for cancellations made 30 days before the tour date.

    • 70% refund for cancellations made 15 days before the tour date (30% is non-refundable).

    • 50% refund for cancellations made 7 days before the tour date.

    • No refunds for cancellations made within 5 days of the tour date.

  • Tour Program Modifications: The tour leader reserves the right to modify or cancel the program due to weather conditions, public events, or other unforeseen circumstances.

  • Group Size: Groups can consist of 3, 7, or 14 participants. For different group requirements, please contact us for a customized price.

  • Mobile Connection: In mountainous terrain, mobile connection may not be available in some areas. The best network coverage is provided by Azercell.

  • Food and Equipment: Food preparation and cooking in mountain conditions are the responsibility of the participant.

  • Custom Requests: If you wish to add or remove locations or meals from the tour itinerary, please contact us.

  • Gratuities: Tipping is at your discretion if you are satisfied with the services provided.
