Itinerary:
Day 1: Baku - Quba - Khinalig Village
We depart from Baku early in the morning, leaving our daily lives behind and heading towards the mountains that await us. A journey of about 3 hours takes us to one of the most unique and stunning villages of Azerbaijan – Khinalig.
Our first stop along the way is Beshbarmag Mountain This sacred peak welcomes us with its surrounding legends and tranquility. After a short break, we enjoy the view. Then, we reach the city of Guba, where a cup of tea and a short walk in the local market prepare us for the next leg of the journey.
As we continue up the mountain roads, the landscape starts to change – the ravines deepen, the rocks harden, and the air cools. The winding roads along the Qudyalchay River gradually lead us to the heart of the Caucasus Mountains, Khinalig village.
Arriving in the village feels like stepping into another world. Located at an altitude of 2170 meters, Khinalig, one of the oldest inhabited settlements in the world, fascinates us with its culture, language, and nature. We stay in local guesthouses and enjoy a delicious natural lunch prepared by the hosts.
In the afternoon, we explore the stone houses, mysterious streets, and historical sites of Khinalig, experiencing the ancient spirit of the village. The mountains here are an integral part of life – people, houses, and time coexist with the rocky backdrop.
In the evening, we rest in the guesthouse, surrounded by the tranquility of the village and the mountain scenery. We spend the night here under a sky full of stars, far from the noise of the city, in the heart of silence and nature.

Day 2: Khinalig - Haput Village - Tölachukur River
Our journey begins in the mystical and ancient Khinalig village. This unique mountain village, with its stone houses perched on rocks, enchants travelers from the very first step. From here, we proceed along the Qudyalchay River. On our left, deep ravines; on our right, towering rocks; and above us, the silent Mount Khinalig watch over us.
As we ascend step by step, we reach the breathtaking view of the Haput Pass. After a short break, looking back, we can appreciate the beauty of the entire route we’ve traveled – offering magnificent views of Azerbaijan’s highest peaks.
After passing the pass, we descend the mountain slopes and arrive at Haput village. This silent, seemingly abandoned village makes us feel what it means to live in harmony with the mountains. The traces of stone houses and the breath of time are visible here.
After exploring the village and catching our breath, we continue on our journey towards the Agchay valley. This valley, with its expansive meadows, cool waters, and surrounding grasslands, carries the spirit of summer life. We arrive at the Töləçuxur River, where we set up camp for the night.
In the evening, as we set up our tents in the mountain’s embrace, only the sound of wind and water fills the air. The stars shine brightly above us, and the river’s water seems to sing the mountains’ song. Tonight, we sleep in the mountains, far from the city’s noise, immersed in nature’s breath.

As we reach the foothills of Karaburga Mountain, we feel the change in altitude and the surrounding environment. From here, an expansive view unfolds: the paths we’ve traveled are visible behind us, while ahead lies a new world – the Kupal Highland. We enter this highland, greeted by its beauty and the spirit of shepherd life that has been carried through the years.
We continue our journey along the Kaladzhyk River valley. The green slopes of the valley and the flowing waters guide us towards the ancient mountain village of Kaladzhyk in Ismayilli.
