Azerbaijan's enchanting nature is rich with many mysterious and beautiful places. One of them is Ambil Lake, located near the village of Zeyve in the Shabran district. Situated at an altitude of 927 meters above sea level, at the foot of Mount Nohurbashi, this lake is surrounded by dense forests and is considered a natural gem due to its unique beauty.
Ambil Lake is distinguished by its circular shape, with a diameter of approximately 150 meters. The water of the lake is often clean and transparent. In the summer months, it attracts nature lovers with its cool and refreshing water, while in winter, it freezes and gains a completely different beauty. Although the exact source of the lake's water is not precisely known, scientists believe it is fed by underground waters. Therefore, the water level remains stable throughout the year. Various species of fish live in Ambil Lake, and in summer, it is also possible to see waterfowl here.
How to Get to the Lake?
Ambil Lake is located approximately 4 km from the village of Zeyve in the Shabran district. The distance from Shabran city to the village is about 35 km. The road to the lake is relatively easy, though some parts are uphill. For those wishing to visit, this offers both an interesting hike and an unforgettable adventure. Along the way, visitors can enjoy walking through dense forested areas and being immersed in nature. Near the lake are the Samed Spring and some oil wells.
