Starting from Mujü village in the Ismayilli region, we will hike through mountain-forest landscapes up to the 1,810-meter summit of Mount Fit, and then descend toward the historic and picturesque village of Sulut.
The route is one-way and of moderate to challenging difficulty. During the hike, from the summit of Mount Fit, you will have the opportunity to enjoy magnificent panoramic views opening toward the Niyal Mountains and Babadağ.
About the Route
Our tour begins in Mujü village. The first section passes through dense forests and mountain trails. As the altitude gradually increases, the landscape changes and opens up to wide mountain views. After reaching the summit, time will be allocated for a break and photography.
After crossing Mount Fit, the descent begins and our route leads us to Sulut village. This section is particularly rich in both natural beauty and historical significance.
Sulut Village – History and Heritage
Sulut village, one of the oldest settlements in the Ismayilli region, stands out with its breathtaking nature and rich historical heritage. The ancient monuments located here demonstrate the region’s strategic and cultural importance throughout the centuries.
Historical Monuments and Attractions:
Medieval Settlement – An ancient settlement uncovered during archaeological excavations.
Icehouse (Buzkhana) – A traditional natural cooling system used in ancient times for food storage.
Juma Mosque – An ancient place of worship that played an important role in the religious and cultural life of the village.
Haram Fortress – An ancient defensive structure located on the mountainside.
Girkhotaq Castle – A historical structure used for both residential and defensive purposes.
Fitdag Fortress – Located near the summit, this fortress dates back to the Shirvan Khanate period and belonged to the tenth Shirvan Khan, Mustafa Khan.
