Located near the village of Khinalug in the Quba region, the Ataturk (3756 m) and Heydar (3751 m) peaks offer an unforgettable journey for adventure and nature enthusiasts. During the hike to these magnificent peaks of the Gizilgaya range, you will enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of Shahdag National Park, the refreshing mountain rivers, and the pristine nature.

Ataturk Peak - Situated at an altitude of 3756 m above sea level in the Gizilgaya range near the village of Khinalug in the Quba region. In 1999, this peak was named "Atatürk Peak" in honor of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

Heydar Peak - Located on the Gizilgaya range near the village of Khinalug in the Quba region. It has an elevation of 3751 meters. In 1997, this peak was named "Heydar Peak" in honor of Heydar Aliyev.

Before joining the summit tour, it is recommended to familiarize yourself with all the details of the trip. This is especially useful for those embarking on their first summit adventure and will help you avoid any unexpected surprises. Being informed in advance about physical challenges, the length of the route, and weather conditions will ensure that you are well-prepared.

Day 1: Baku - Quba - Khinalug - Ateshgah

We depart from Baku to the city of Quba (approximately 3 hours). After making our final purchases, we head towards Khinalug village (approximately 2 hours). Upon arrival in Khinalug, we continue our journey by mountain vehicles to Ateshgah. On the way, we pass through State Border Service and Shahdag National Park checkpoints (approximately 1 hour).

Upon reaching Ateshgah (2600 m), we set up our tents and go for an altitude adaptation hike. We spend the night in tents.

Day 2: Ateshgah - Heydar Peak - Atatürk Peak - Camp - Baku

We wake up at 04:00 AM. After having breakfast and completing our preparations, we set off towards Heydar Peak. First, we will ascend Heydar Peak, followed by Atatürk Peak. The ascent to the peaks will take approximately 5-6 hours.

After completing our summit activities, we descend back to the camp (approximately 4 hours). Upon reaching the camp, we pack our tents and head towards Khinalug village.

From Khinalug, we depart for Baku by sprinter vehicle. We arrive in Baku at approximately 10:00 PM.

Necessary Equipment:

Mountain boots, waterproof warm trousers (Gore-Tex), waterproof warm jacket (Gore-Tex), sleeping bag, trekking poles, cooking equipment, gas burner and cylinder, tent, headlamp, gaiters, hat, sunglasses, gloves, socks, thermal underwear, fleece jacket, mat, tent, etc.

Additional Information and Conditions:
  • Registration and Permission: Participants must register and complete the full payment at least 30 days before the tour. During this period, participants must provide a copy of their passport to obtain permits from Shahdag National Park and the State Border Service.

  • Cancellation and Refund Policy:

    • If canceled 30 days before the tour, the full amount is refunded.

    • If canceled 15 days before the tour, 70% of the amount is refunded (30% is retained).

    • If canceled 7 days before the tour, 50% of the amount is refunded.

    • If canceled 5 days or less before the tour, no refund is provided.

  • Tour Program Modifications: The tour leader has the right to modify or cancel the program due to weather conditions, public events, or other unforeseen circumstances.

  • Group Size: Groups can be of 3, 7, or 14 participants. For custom group requests, please contact us for a personalized quote.

  • Mobile Connectivity: In mountainous areas, mobile connectivity may be limited. The best coverage is provided by the Azercell network.

  • Food and Equipment: Participants are responsible for their own meals and cooking arrangements in mountain conditions.

  • Custom Requests: If you would like to modify the tour content by adding or removing locations or meals, please contact us.

  • Gratuities: Tipping is at your discretion if you are satisfied with the services provided.
