Tufandag Peak is the third-highest summit of the Greater Caucasus range, standing at an elevation of 4,191 meters. Located at the watershed of the Guba, Gusar, and Gabala regions, this magnificent mountain is an ideal choice for challenging and extreme hikes. Several tributaries of the Gudyalchay River, along with the Demiraparan and Mahmudchay Rivers, originate from the slopes of Tufandag. The eternal glaciers on the Gusar side ensure a constant water supply to the Mahmudchay River. At an altitude of 3,300 meters, the picturesque Tufangol Lake adds a unique beauty to the mountain. Named after its strong winds and blizzards, Tufandag is a true test ground for mountaineers with its harsh climate and breathtaking landscapes.

It is advisable to familiarize yourself with all the details of the Tufandağ summit tour before joining. This is especially beneficial for those heading to the summit for the first time and will help you avoid unexpected surprises. Being informed in advance about physical challenges, the route length, and weather conditions will ensure that you are well-prepared.
Day 1: Baku - Guba - Khinalig - Tufandag Camp (3300 m)
We depart from Baku towards Khinalig village in the Guba region (approximately 5 hours). After completing our final shopping in Guba, we continue our journey to Khinalig. In Khinalig, we switch to mountain vehicles and head towards Shahyaylag (approximately 2 hours). Along the way, we pass through Shahdag National Park and then the State Border Service checkpoint, advancing towards Shahyaylag and reaching the foothills of Tufandag.
After leaving the vehicles, we hike for about 3 hours with our backpacks to reach the campsite. After setting up our tents and resting, we will go for an acclimatization hike. After dinner, we complete our preparations for the summit and rest.
Day 2: Camp - Tufandag Summit - Camp
At 05:00 AM, we start our ascent to Tufandag summit. The climb takes about 5-6 hours. After taking summit photos, we descend back to the camp. The descent will take approximately 2-3 hours. We stay overnight at the campsite.
Day 3: Camp - Khinalig - Guba - Baku
After breakfast, we pack up our tents and hike towards Shahyaylag to reach the vehicles. We then drive towards Khinalig village. In Khinalig, we switch vehicles and continue our journey back to Baku.

Required Equipment:
Mountain boots, waterproof warm pants (Gore-Tex), waterproof warm jacket (Gore-Tex), sleeping bag, trekking poles, cooking equipment, gas burner and cylinder, tent, headlamp, gaiters, hat, sunglasses, gloves, socks, thermal underwear, fleece jacket, mat, tent, etc.
Additional Information and Terms:
- Registration and Permission: Participants must register and complete full payment at least 30 days in advance. A copy of the passport is required for obtaining permissions from Shahdag National Park and the State Border Service.
- Cancellation and Refund Policy:
- Full refund if canceled 30 days before the tour.
- 70% refund if canceled 15 days before the tour (30% is non-refundable).
- 50% refund if canceled 7 days before the tour.
- No refund if canceled within 5 days of the tour.
- Tour Program Changes: The tour leader reserves the right to modify or cancel the program due to weather conditions, public events, or unforeseen circumstances.
