Hirkan National Park is one of the richest national parks in our country, home to beautiful wildlife. Its core is the endemic ironwood forests. The park's diverse plant life has created a habitat for numerous animal species. Among the mammals, you can encounter leopards, Persian fallow deer, lynxes, badgers, wild boars, roe deer, raccoons, and more. Amphibian species in the area include the common newt, crested newt, Syrian garlic frog, Caucasian cross-toad, and common toad. Reptiles such as the Mediterranean turtle, striped legless lizard, round-headed worm lizard, ruins lizard, and Aesculapian snake are also found in the park.
We will travel to villages deep within the Hirkan forests, where there are no roads or electricity. The inhabitants of these villages are Talysh people, whose main occupations are beekeeping and livestock farming. Near the village of Dilmadi, there is a historic cemetery. Due to the harsh living conditions, some of the residents have moved to lower-altitude villages.
Our journey will start from Bandasar village, passing through Chayagzi and Dilmadi villages, and ending in Siov village. We will stay overnight in a house in Siov village and enjoy traditional Talysh cuisine. After breakfast, we will set off for Sym village, explore it, and conclude our tour at the Sym waterfall.
